At St. Mark’s, parents are not kept on the outside of the youth ministry. We believe that parents are the #1 contributor to the faith of their children. Because of this view we encourage parents to be a part of our youth ministry in the hopes that they may help to continue at church what they have started at home: contributing to the faith formation of their children.
Parents are invited to engage in our youth ministry by joining our discussions at youth group meetings, preparing meals at these meetings, providing leadership at off-campus events, inviting the youth group into their homes, chaperoning lock-ins, or serving on the Youth Committee.
If you are a parent of a youth at St. Mark’s and you are feeling led to take a greater role in our youth ministry, contact Alex at 704-375-9185 or at alexenglish@saintmarkscharlotte.org and he will be glad to help you find a spot where you can use your gifts to serve our youth.
Parents’ Sunday School Class
Pastor Peter is currently leading a Parents’ Sunday School class. It meets at 9:30 am on Sundays in the Fellowship Hall. This class gives parents a space to discuss one another the challenges and joys of raising teenagers. Feel free to join the class on the first Sunday that is convenient to you.
