Rev. Dr. Peter Brown

Pastor Peter Brown came to St. Mark’s in 2006 having served previously in churches in Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina and Florida.

A 1974 graduate of Texas Lutheran University and 1978 graduate of Trinity Lutheran Seminary, Columbus, Ohio, Pastor Peter has served as a Lutheran pastor (ALC, ELCA) for over 30 years. He also taught in the Religion Department at Lenoir-Rhyne University from 1994-1999.  He received his doctorate in theology in 1997 and is a Certified Spiritual Director through Sursum Corda. Additionally he has done graduate work in clinical pastoral psychotherapy.

For the last 15 years Pastor Peter has been a Centering Prayer practitioner and teacher.

He and his wife Ann, a Certified Ophthalmic Associate, have three adult sons. His hobbies are reading, running, guitar, poetry, fly fishing, gardening and water colors.
